The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams

About
The Glass Menagerie was Allison's senior thesis project and love letter to her Undergraduate program. Not only did she collaborate with students and professional designers, but she had the privilege to direct professional actor and professor Carol Anderson, in the role of Amanda.

Directors Notes
"Simply to dream is one thing. To act on our dreams is another. As a senior, I and the rest of my class stand at a precipice, looking back at the rest of our time here at Asbury. Everything we have done is heightened in memory— everything we are about to do is exaggerated by hope.

“The Glass Menagerie” by Tennessee Williams is an autobiographical examination of his life with his overbearing mother and troubled sister. Though the details of his life have been heightened or adjusted for the stage, his story still speaks truth.

As Tom reviews his story, we are invited to reflect on our own: decisions we have made, daydreams in which we lose ourselves, and plans for our future. Art comes with a cost.

Will we go to the South Sea Island, or continue to go to the movies?"
